Do Now 1/25/10
I time when I felt invisible is when my little sister was first born. She required a lot of attention and at the time I did not realize how much attention she needed.
Story
He came home from work, to his empty house, only to be greeted by the hundreds of light bulbs in his home. He never really had a real family, and he had never been married, which means he never had kids either. It was just him in his house with his light bulbs. Some might say his life is pathetic and is going nowhere. All he does is wake up, go to work, come home, do nothing, go to sleep. A very simple life, but a very boring one too. He wanted to spice it up a little bit, he wanted to change this pattern he was stuck in. He did not know what it was he was going to do but he figured he would figure it out tomorrow and headed to bed for the night
The next day he woke up and went to work. He worked in an office making fairly decent money. He was never scrapping by for food and was never behind on his rent or bills. He started talking to a women he had worked with for over five years. He did not know her name seeing as he never really reached out to anyone at all. He was not a shy person but rather he did not see the point in wasting time when he had work to get done. Today was different though. He invited her to his house for dinner and she accepted. To his surprise he had a date.
Later that night she had come over to his house. He thoughts that it was great that he had finally started to change his life, but he didn’t know were to go next. He asked her what they should do and she was found very confused. She asked him about the light bulbs to try and spark a conversation. He told her that each one represented a person. She asked how he knew so many people if he was not such an out going person. He replied with a smile that they weren’t people he knew but people he had murdered. Her heart sank when he told her this. This was not the first time he had tired to “spice up” his life. He then told her that he had the intention of killing her but first she had to describe her fear as much as possible. If she described it well enough in a very calm and well-mannered way then he would let her go. But if she stumbled even on the slightest word she would be killed. They went all through the night talking, well mostly she did. Eventually the lights went out in his house and the next morning when he woke up he put a new light in.
